tDCS

tDCS is a modern, non-invasive method that gently stimulates the brain. A weak, continuous current is delivered through electrodes on the scalp, targeting specific brain areas depending on where the electrodes are placed.

  • Duration: around 20–30 minutes

  • Recommended frequency: several sessions per week, depending on your goals

Are there any side effects?

tDCS is generally very well tolerated. Some people may experience mild, short-lived effects like slight tingling or itching at the electrodes, temporary redness, headaches, or mild fatigue. These usually disappear quickly, and studies show they occur no more often than with a placebo.

For which conditions is tDCS used?

tDCS can support a variety of areas in both medical treatment and mental training, including:

  • Depression

  • Pain management

  • Motor disorders

  • Aphasia (speech difficulties)

  • Addictions

  • Cognitive development, such as memory, learning, and attention
